A blustery, overcast Sunday to start in Central Alabama

SUNDAY FORECAST Rain will gradually set in until early Sunday morning, mainly before sunrise. In the afternoon we will see some sun again. It remains breezy with temperatures high in the 60’s. All in all, not bad weather to spend some time outdoors! On Monday we will finally see a clearing to the north as high pressure builds in the area. Highs will be in the 50’s and 60’s today and generally in the 60’s on Monday, with lows in the 40’s. There is a low threat of severe storms late Tuesday night through Wednesday morning in western and southern parts of central Alabama. Threats include isolated damaging winds up to 60 miles per hour and perhaps a tornado. Heavy rains can also cause local flooding. Seven Day Forecast Monday is looking pretty good with lots of sunshine in the forecast; Warmer with cloud cover and another shot of heavier rains returning to the area Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning. Then dry and colder from Wednesday night to Thursday. The storm system sending rain and wind will roll over Sunday morning leaving us drier for most of the day. A Pacific (mild, dry) air mass will move in for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Expect near “normal” weather for the start of the work week: highs in the 60s to low 70s, lows in the 40s. Wednesday brings the next chance of rain and thunderstorms, and some of them could be strong given the strength of the system drive them. The Storm Prediction Center already outlines the risk of severe storms in Mississippi, Louisiana and Arkansas for Tuesday. After that, milder weather can be expected until early December. A pattern change in the first week of December sends more arctic air south, bringing more cold weather onto the streets. After Saturday clouds and drizzle hang around Sunday.
