This is the moment we’ve all been waiting for: the regular season finale with plenty of impressive games to settle things ahead of Championship Saturday and College Football Playoff Selection Sunday. Now it’s time to make our final picks for the day’s most important encounters.
This includes three historic rivalries, two of which will have a direct impact on how the future playoff semifinals will ultimately play out.
Ohio State and Michigan go head to head in a No. 2 vs. No. 3 team battle with a trip to the Big Ten title game and the playoffs at stake.
USC and Notre Dame clash as the Trojans have already booked a spot in the Pac-12 championship game and sit just on the outsides of the top-four standings.
And of course the Iron Bowl, which for once has no impact on the national championship race unless Alabama can capitalize on some chaos at the top of the leaderboard and work its way back into the bottom four.
Purdue in Indiana. The four regular pickers were split at the Old Oaken bucket as Purdue looks to stay in contention for the Big Ten West title. College Football Headquarters Choice: Purdue
Minnesota near Wisconsin. Desmond Howard was the sole voice for the Gophers while the others defeated the Badgers in that old rivalry game. College Football Headquarters Selection: Wisconsin
South Carolina at Clemson. A unanimous decision in favor of Clemson to defeat the Gamecocks and stay within reach of the playoff chase. College Football Headquarters Pick: Clemson
Auburn in Alabama. Likewise in favor of the Crimson Tide, who received a vote of confidence in the Iron Bowl and advance to 10 wins. College Football HQ Choice: Alabama
State of Iowa at TCU. All votes go to TCU to remain undefeated as they prepare for the Big 12 Championship Game. College Football HQ Choice: TCU
Kansas in the state of Kansas. Everyone at GameDay sides with the Wildcats to win this and then moves on to the Big 12 title game to face off against TCU. College Football Headquarters Selection: Kansas State
Washington in Washington State. Lee Corso was the only player to side with the Cougars while the others sided with UW. College Football Headquarters Selection: Washington
Oregon in the state of Oregon. Lee Corso and Pat McAfee predict the Beavers will pull off the upset and end the Ducks’ Pac-12 title hopes. College Football HQ Choice: Oregon
Notre Dame at USC. Expect the Trojans to hit home as all four GameDay pickers went with USC via the Fighting Irish. College Football HQ Choice: USC
Michigan in the state of Ohio. Michigan alum Desmond Howard sides with his alma mater in The Game, while Kirk Herbstreit and Pat McAfee chose Ohio State to remain undefeated. In his choice of headwear, Lee Corso also chose the horse chestnuts. College Football HQ Choice: Ohio State
