Florida WR Jaren Hamilton signs to Alabama, strengthens Tides No. 1st Class

Alabama ended its regular season with an Iron Bowl win over Auburn on Saturday. And on Monday, the Crimson Tide added a win in the recruiting column, landing a four-star wide receiver Jaren Hamilton across Florida, Tennessee, and USC. Michigan, among many others.

“Bama excites me because of the passion and grandeur that flows through these buildings and just what it could potentially do for you,” Hamilton previously said while discussing the tide.

First year loan assistant Joe Cox with landing the Florida native, along with wide receivers coach Holmon Wiggins.

Nick Saban Hamilton offered at camp that summer, and from then on it seemed like the tide’s requirement to lose.

“He said he liked my speed, my explosiveness and my strength, my ability to catch, locate and track the ball, just my general athleticism and thinking before I do things. I’m not just out there running around; I know what I’m doing,” Hamilton recalled of his conversation with Saban.

Hamilton returned to Alabama for the Champions Cookout in July, then again for the Texas A&M game in October. Alabama has so far been the only recipient of an official visit for the 6-foot-1, 188-pounder.

“Just like everything they have done and will continue to do for positions across the board,” Hamilton said of UA. “Not just with receivers, but like quarterbacks, DBs, everything down the line, their numbers speak for themselves of how many people they’ve put into the NFL. The championships, countless wins, everything. Just the pedigree they bring into play. They don’t try to be conspicuous. They have a set system and they stick to that system and everyone has to line up to win.”

Hamilton is the No. 34 wide receiver and No. 261 overall player in the country according to the industry’s 247Sports Composite Rankings.

By advancing into Hamilton’s regional finals this weekend, a game in which Buchholz was victorious over Bartram Trail, the new Tide Pledge rushed for 847 yards and had 38 catches and 15 touchdowns. He also recorded interceptions on defense.

The addition strengthens the Tide’s #1 class overall. Alabama currently sits 311.23 points in the 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings.
