Georgia wrapped up the 2022 regular season with a 12-0 win by Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate, 37-14 over rival Georgia Tech.
The Bulldogs dominated the second half. At halftime it was a 3-point game (10-7 UGA) and in the middle of the 3rd quarter it was still a 1-ball possession game (13-7).
The win counts as well, but the fact that it was a second-half pull-away play, as opposed to an early put-away play, has some fans wondering about No. 5 LSU’s chance in the SEC championship game . UGA enters as a strong favourite.
When the matchup was settled after Week 11, Georgia opened as a 15.5-point favorite. SEC Championship odds will be updated continuously through game kick-off on Dec. 4 (4 p.m. ET, CBS). It will be interesting to see what the line looks like once Rivalry Week is in the books. #5 LSU at Texas A&M is set for 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.
Here’s a sampling of what fans and media are saying about the Georgia-LSU match on Twitter:
I don’t think anyone would say that when UGA do their best they are the best team in the country.
The problem is that they’ve rarely played anywhere near their best this year.
LSU has a steep hill to climb next week, but it certainly feels doable.

As good as Georgia has been, you can’t help but notice how vulnerable they looked at times this year – including today. #LSU has a very real chance next week.

Georgia can’t stop playing with his food. If that continues next week #LSU has a shot. https://t.co/xNeW8pojhB

I find it funny that some of you think Georgia will show up with conservative game plans for LSU in the SEC title game.
LSU is one of the last teams on the revenge tour. lol

People really want to act like LSU doesn’t stand a chance against Georgia next week? Georgia is great, but they’ve also shown a lot of vulnerability this season

Georgia is not the monster everyone says she is. When they play like that against LSU. LSU will kick their butts off.

UGA is just lucky today that Georgia Tech is a dormant team. This is bad football. LSU will beat Dawgs with the opportunities Yellow Jackets had today.

I hate to say it but this Georgia team today…. Attack AND Defense…. sleepwalks through the game. Both sides of the ball look like absolute garbage. You won’t beat LSU next week if you play like this???#GoDawgs#GTvsUGA@DawgNationDaily
