The average gas price in Georgia continues to fall compared to a week ago at the pump. Drivers in Georgia are now paying an average price of $3.04 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline (subject to overnight changes). The state average on Monday is 6 cents down from a week ago, 13 cents down from a month ago and 18 cents down from this time last year. It now costs $45.60 to fill a 15 gallon tank with regular gasoline. Motorists are now paying almost $2.00 less to fill up at the pump compared to last month.

“Georgia pump prices are falling as crude oil continues to fall,” said Montrae Waiters, spokeswoman for AAA-The Auto Club Group. “The main reason for the decline is the drop in oil prices. Crude oil is the single largest factor affecting gas prices, accounting for more than half of what drivers pay at the pump.”

The national average continues to fall

Since last Monday, the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline is down 12 cents to $3.55 (subject to change overnight), mainly due to falling oil prices.

Regional prices:

The most expensive subway markets in Georgia – Savannah ($3.10), Atlanta ($3.07) and Hinesville-Fort Stewart ($3.05).

Cheapest subway markets in Georgia – Rome ($2.95), Catoosa-Dade-Walker ($2.93) and Warner Robins ($2.85).
