Home Nurse Inc has announced that its Structured Family Care (SFC) program is currently open to primary family caregivers in Atlanta.
Griffin, Ga. – (Newsfile Corp. – November 26, 2022) – Griffin-based senior care agency Home Nurse Inc is now accepting applications for the Structured Family Caregiving (SFC) program, which provides financial assistance and caregiver training for family members who caring for an elderly or disabled person at home.
“Structured Family Caregiving (SFC) is a new Medicare service that provides primary caregivers with coaching and financial support,” said Miranda Roberson, RN, CEO of Home Nurse Inc. “Applicants must meet a number of requirements, including living in the same House like the person receiving the care,” she added.

Additionally, to be eligible under Home Nurse Inc.’s new program, successful applicants must be at least 18 years of age and related biologically or by marriage – spouses and legal guardians are not eligible. An applicant’s eligibility also depends on their employment status – those who have employment outside the home or run a business from home are not eligible for assistance under SFC. In addition, the person receiving the care must be eligible for Medicaid in Georgia and enrolled in the CCSP or SOURCE waiver program.
Finally, the SFC program also has some specific criteria for the types of services nurses can provide in order to qualify for compensation. This includes household chores, meal preparation, dressing, personal hygiene, medication management and other tasks of daily living.
For a successful application, all requirements must be met. As part of the SFC program, Home Nurse Inc provides primary family caregivers with weekly compensation and health coaching from its team of registered nurses.
With the recent announcement, Home Nurse Inc hopes to improve the quality of life for seniors and people with disabilities who are currently being cared for by family members in their homes. Established in 1983, the agency provides personal support assistants and qualified nurses in the greater Atlanta area.
