Stand up! It’s a football game day in Georgia!

Kirby Smart and his undefeated Bulldogs will take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Athens today. Right now, Georgia is listed as a 35.5-point favorite over Georgia Tech.

A win for Georgia would secure an unblemished regular-season record, which would be a first in program history in which the Bulldogs had back-to-back unbeaten seasons. It would also bring Georgia closer to another win to secure the No. 1 spot as the final four for the college football playoffs is just over a week away from being announced.

Georgia Tech came this season with Geoff Collins as headman. Collins was then fired earlier in the season and Brent Key was then announced as interim head coach, who actually has some history with Smart. Since then, Key has amassed a 4-3 record as the team’s head coach and most recently helped guide the Yellow Jackets to a surprise win over North Carolina.

However, history says a disgruntled win is not very likely for Georgia Tech today. Since 2001, Tech has defeated the Bulldogs just three times and lost four straight. Georgia has also surpassed Georgia Tech in their last four games, 180-35.

Some rain showers were originally expected for tonight’s game but now it looks like it will be cloudy skies with temperatures around 60 degrees until kick-off.

Today is also Senior Day for the Bulldogs and a long list of veteran Bulldogs will be recognized ahead of tonight’s game. Now these seniors will look to add another win between the hedges to their careers against one of the program’s biggest rivals.
