The latest offer from 2024 talks about the “priority status” of Georgian football and the red carpet treatment

Jackson first visited UGA for the Georgia Tech game on Saturday.

He was impressed. Say the least.

“Oh man,” he said. “Georgia was outstanding. The facilities were excellent. They let me go on a little mini tour before we actually went to where we ate. The facilities were like nothing I’ve seen on any of my visits.”

Georgia was already impressed. So they made him feel special in a few obvious ways. He obviously had a privileged seat in the front three rows of the West End Zone recruiting stands.

It started early.

“When I got there, they had the Cadillacs and Jeeps and all that stuff,” he said.

Many of the recruits boarded buses, but he heard his name called.

“They took me to the car and gave me a whole tour and everything,” Jackson said. “I have to meet Kirby [Smart] and I had a little chat with Kirby, too.”

What did Kirby say?

“He loved my movie,” Smart said. “I’ve talked about where I’m from. We talked about the Tucker story and all that. Coach Smart is a really good guy.”

Can he already imagine playing for the ‘Dawgs?

“Oh yes,” he said Saturday night, “definitely. I did it all day today. Did it all day.”

He studied the Georgia Defense.

“Same as when you look at my position,” he said. “I look at how they play my position. To imagine how I see in there what I would do in certain situations. Things I’d say most recruits do when they’re on these little outings at the little games. Just imagine yourself in this field. Doing these plays.”

He definitely said he felt like a priority in Athens. According to the ‘Dawgs, they rolled out the red carpet for him on Saturday.

Jackson said the mini tour and speaking with Coach Smart were his favorite parts of the visit.

“Just getting a feel for the school and being shown around,” he said. “I’m just doing this little mini tour before I go back up in December and all that stuff. Just this part. And then, of course, meeting Coach Smart. Start a conversation with him. We had a really good conversation. Just the hospitality they showed me was definitely my favorite part.”

Is it safe to say the ‘Dawgs are a major contender for him now?

“Absolutely,” he said. “Especially for being the number one team in the nation and for showing so much love. They just offer me without ever seeing me. show me everything Taking me to the facilities and all that stuff in the car on the tour. They showed a lot of love. They are definitely up there.”

CJ Jackson: Where do the ‘Dawgs fit in now?

Jackson watched home games at Georgia and Clemson in back-to-back weeks. It was interesting to hear his thoughts on those two trips to look at two of college football’s elite programs.

“I feel like it was a little bit more live in Georgia because it was a rivalry between Georgia and Georgia Tech,” he said. “But Clemson still played in Miami. They knew they had this in their pocket. I just felt that the spectators were more interested in this game in Georgia. But it’s kind of similar.”

Apart from the equipment.

“I thought Clemson had one of the best, but I was wrong,” Jackson said. “I’ve never been to Georgia and Georgia had a really nice facility. I didn’t expect it to be as beautiful as it was.”

Jackson had his mother Karima Jackson with him on Saturday.

“She said she loved it,” said CJ Jackson.

What she liked best was the personal exchange with Smart and the trainers. Jackson also said the ‘Dawgs finally got to see him in person on Saturday.

“You loved me,” he said. “I spoke to the coach [Chidera] Uzo-Diribe when I got there. good guy I have a feeling they liked what they saw.”

“I spoke to coach Diribe. He said he would most likely try to get me back there in December. So maybe sometime in December. Definitely in January.”

He said that at that meeting, it was just “so easy to talk to Smart.”

“You know how some people tense up and stuff?” Jackson said. “It was just a relaxed chat with me and my mom. We had a really good conversation with him. Not even just about football. But like family and where we come from and all that.”

That was his first game day at Sanford Stadium. What will he remember best about the atmosphere on match day?

“Just get up close,” he said. “I just mean seeing how much they wanted you and stuff like that. Because I really didn’t know. We were there and there was a person who said, “Probably sit in the first three rows” and “You can sit up there,” and I said, “Oh, okay, okay,” and it was just a really good one Game. That was one of my first times that I was so open and close and personal. Compared to other recruits. They have different seating than Georgia in other places. Especially when you’re at the front, then you’re in the right place.”

The best thing about the CJ Jackson story to watch out for

CJ Jackson was on a loaded Parkview team in 2021 and has not received any offers. He decided to go back to Tucker and make a GREAT movie. That’s what Georgia saw, and they offered him an unseen view, right on the tape, and the perspective of the teams that faced him.

Jackson got an offer from Indiana in October. The Class of 2024 EDGE also visited FSU and the state of Mississippi for games earlier this year. He left both games without an offer. He visited Clemson for the Syracuse game earlier this year and left without an offer.

There was another trip to North Carolina for the Pittsburgh game.

He didn’t get an offer from the ‘Dawgs until two weeks ago.

And he’s somehow found himself in the stands with Clemson and UGA for back-to-back weeks. Will he ever forget the times when he only hoped for a single offer?

“Oh yes,” he said. “For sure. For sure. Especially when people talk to me. I’m like [speechless.] You talk to me like I’ve just been in the spotlight. Just a 5 star guy. And I’m like, ‘I’ve just started getting this attention,’ and it’s crazy about me.”
