Marissa (pictured before her transformation) said she “lost herself” during a long-term relationship.

“It was mutual. We were two different people and our children deserved better. We couldn’t be together,” Marissa said.

After the breakup, Marissa decided to transform because she believed it was time for a change.

“I could finally be myself,” she said.

“I’ve decided if I feel good on the outside, I can feel good on the inside because I can be genuine and honest with people and I can’t hide out of fear.”

“It was definitely a process – it didn’t happen overnight.”

First, Marissa overhauled her wardrobe to reflect her love of alternative music — she swapped mummy knitwear for black outfits.

“I’d always loved the alternative music scene since I was 12, I just thought I couldn’t dress like that after becoming a wife and mother,” she explained.

“I kept bleaching and dying my hair until it all broke.

“In 2017 I had the choice of shaving it all off or getting a Karen cut.

“The outgrowth took years. I couldn’t leave my hair alone.

“I’m really happy with my hair now. It is now natural to my shoulders and I have extensions and have been dyed black.

Now happier than ever, Marissa advises other moms to take at least 10 minutes each day to do something that makes them feel good.

“I now spend half an hour every day getting ready and putting on my makeup,” she said.

“Only when you feel good can you be the best version of yourself.

“I feel like a completely different person, I’m confident, I feel good and I feel like myself.”

She added that since her transformation, people have compared her to a certain Hollywood star.

“People tell me I look like Megan Fox all the time and it’s honestly so flattering,” she said.

“I’m not sure I see it myself, but I’ve always admired her and it’s very humbling!”
