Police are investigating two shootings in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Virginia Beach police said one man is dead and there are at least three victims in two shootings Wednesday night within about 11 minutes and three miles of each other.

Local police told a photographer from 10 On Your Side that they are looking for an unidentified suspect in a shooting at the 5300 block of Wesleyan Drive behind a Waffle House that killed one man.

The call for this shooting came in at 7:25 p.m. Police also said a suspect in the shooting fled towards the Dove Landing Apartments. and they have no identification or motive for the shooting.

The call for the other shooting on the 700 block of Independence Boulevard at the Food Lion was received at 7:36 p.m. Police told 10 On Your Side that there were two victims in that shooting.

Police said they knew one victim of the shooting at the 5300 block of Wesleyan Drive and two victims locally at the 700 block of Independence Boulevard.

Police said it was not known if the incidents were related and they are asking people to avoid both areas.
