The running game. On a day when West Virginia, with two separate quarterbacks and less than ideal weather conditions, struggled to get much of anything going in the passing game, the Mountaineers were able to run the football for a 250-yard streak. That’s the highest number of points by a West Virginia team against an FBS opponent this season and more than the 111 yards the Mountaineers had mustered in their last three games combined against the Cowboys. This was the kind of performance the Mountaineers needed to win, and they were able to pull it off through a concerted effort led by Jaylen Anderson.
